Rivka's Millinery Journey

Over ten years hat making experience

The Story

Rivka has always been interested in textiles but it was not until 2007 that she discovered millinery which has since become her real passion.  She started by attending a course with milliner Jane Smith, who inspired her to enrol for the HNC in Couture Millinery at South Kensington & Chelsea College.  While on the course one of Rivka's hats was chosen by Fenwick for sale in their department store.

Opening a Hat Shop in Exeter

After finishing college Rivka worked with milliners Justin Smith and Edwina Ibbotson. She then branched out as a self-employed milliner in London, before moving to Exeter in 2011 where she has developed a firm client base. During this time she has created hats for the TV programme X-Factor.

Rivka also has ten years experience of facilitating community art workshops including fascinator workshops, sewing workshops and millinery workshops.
