Rivka has been a milliner for over 10 years.
Even as a child Rivka was interested in textiles but it was not until much later in adulthood that she discovered millinery which has since become her real passion. She started her millinery training in 2007 when she attended a one day week course with milliner Jane Smith. who inspired her to enrol for the HNC in Couture millinery at South Kennsington & Chelsea College.. Whilst on this course one of Rivka's hats was chosen by Fenwick for display and sale in their department store.
After finishing college Rivka worked with milliners Justin Smith and Edwina Ibbotson. She then branched out as a self employed milliner in London, before moving to Exeter in 2011 where she has developed a firm client base. She created hats for the TV programme X Factor
Rivka specialises in making hats and headwear for mother of the bride or groom, wedding guests, ladies visiting Ascot, Cheltenham ladies day.
Rivka likes to experiment with texture, colour and unusual materials, taking inspiration from nature, sculptures and day to day life.
Rivka can offer traditional millinery, theatrical millinery and hat care and repair. Rivka also has ten years experience of facilitating community art workshops including fascinator workshops, sewing workshops and millinery workshops.
